BCFSA launches consultation on Natural Catastrophes and Climate Related Risks discussion paper

The British Columbia Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) has published a discussion paper on Natural Catastrophes and Climate-Related Risks (NCCR).

The paper outlines BCFSA's proposed approach, based on two pillars:

  • Identification, measurement and management of NCCR for financial institutions, plan administrators and consumers.
  • Ensure adequate disclosure to help consumers understand the products and services offered, and how NCCR can impact them.

Interested parties are invited to provide their feedback by Nov. 30, 2023.
