Bill C-69, the 2024 Budget Implementation Act, came into effect on June 20, 2024, impacting federal pension laws

Bill C-69, the Budget Implementation Act, 2024, No. 1, received Royal Assent on June 20, 2024. This impacts some elements of federal pension laws.
The bill amends the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985 to require the Superintendent of Financial Institutions to publish prescribed information related to the investments of certain federally regulated pension plans.
Additionally, Bill C-69 amends the Pooled Registered Pension Plans Act to require that plan administrators provide specified information by written notice to certain persons when they become members of a pooled registered pension plan.
