British Columbia publishes regulation amending the Division of Pensions under the Family Law Act

B.C. has amended its regulations regarding the division of pensions under the Family Law Act.

The amendments to the Division of Pensions Regulation, B.C. Reg. 348/2012, relate to notice of an assignment of the member’s spouse’s survivor benefits, annuity payments, transfers from Locked-In Retirement Account to Life Income Funds, among other changes.

The amendments were approved on July 8, 2024, and come into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
