CRA Online Submissions Portal

The Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) has removed online filing as an option for most of the forms associated with its Registered Plan Directorate.

According to a CRA notice, the Directorate is working on creating a secure portal that will allow the deferred income and saving plans industry to view and modify plan information, submit documents, open new accounts and more.

In the meantime, while the project advances, virtually all forms must be filed by mail. The only forms that may be filed online are as follows:

  • T244, Registered Pension Plan Annual Information Return: may be submitted by internet file transfer or via the “Submit documents” section in CRA’s My Account and My Business Account.
  • T550, Application for Registration of RSP's, ESP's or RID's Under Section 146, 146.1 and 146.3 of the Income Tax Act: may be submitted by internet file transfer.
  • T510, Application to Register a Pension Plan: may be submitted via the “Submit documents” section in CRA’s My Account and My Business Account.
  • T920, Application to Amend a Registered Pension Plan: may be submitted via the “Submit documents” section in CRA’s My Account and My Business Account.
