CRA unveils My Registered Plan Account portal to modernize plan administration, set for spring 2026 launch

CRA My Registered Plan Account Portal

The Registered Plans Directorate (the “RPD”) of the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) aims to launch its My Registered Plan Account portal in the Spring of 2026.

According to a CRA release, the RPD’s new secure portal will streamline operations and reduce processing times by reducing reliance on paper processing. 

Some of the features that administrators, applicants, carriers, issuers, promoters, sponsors and trustees can expect to see on launch include:

  • A single sign-in service using existing CRA credentials.
  • Primary plan ‘owners’ can authorize representatives to manage their accounts.
  • Access to various services including filing annual information returns, amendments, waivers, new plan numbers, registrations, and more. 
  • Document submission for existing registered plans and new registration packages.
  • Secure electronic correspondence with the CRA.
