CRA updates RRIF guidance to include revised minimums, bulk transfer info and paperless requirements

The Canada Revenue Agency has updated its information circular for carriers who wish to offer registered retirement income funds to the public.

Included in the updated IC78-18R7, Registered Retirement Income Funds are:

  • Information about bulk transfers.
  • Paperless application requirements.
  • Elimination of the requirement that the signature of an authorized official of the carrier be included on the transfer receipt provided to annuitants.
