Expanded federal dental benefits will soon be coming to more Canadians.

On June 27, the federal government began accepting applications for the Canadian Dental Care Plan for youths under 18 and people with a valid disability tax credit certificate.

The program aims to provide coverage to certain uninsured Canadians, which has already started to cover children under 12, as announced in Canada’s 2023 budget.

According to a press release, the government will continue to expand the dental plan, further opening eligibility up in 2025 to uninsured Canadians between 18 and 64.

Eligible applicants will be able to apply through Service Canada.
