FSRA Releases Pension Update

The Ontario Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) published its latest pension update on May 11.

Here are some highlights:

  • A bankruptcy guide for plan members is now available, providing information on what to do in the event of employer bankruptcy
  • The pension plan examination framework is being updated. FSRA has begun piloting a new approach, to be fully implemented likely by 2024.
  • FRSA has provided more than 3,100 defined contribution pension plan sponsors with two documents to be sure DC plan obligations are understood and supported:
