The Globe and Mail reports that some of Canada’s largest pension plans are expanding investments in land-based wind power.

According to the article, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Ocean Winds invested US $150.3-million jointly with a Madrid-based company specializing in offshore wind to secure a lease covering 32,544 hectares of deep ocean waters. This is earmarked as the future home to floating offshore wind farms.
