Newfoundland and Labrador enacts Bill 61, An Act to Amend the Pension Benefits Act, 1997

Newfoundland and Labrador passed Bill 61, An Act to Amend the Pension Benefits Act, 1997, on November 16, 2023.

Bill 61 amends the Pension Benefits Act to incorporate gender-neutral language, replace references to "Trial Division" with "Supreme Court”, and it includes a reference to multi-employer pension plans prescribed in the regulations in section 20(2) (which is the exemption from the void amendments provision).
