OMERS posts 6% net investment return in 2025

OMERS reported a 6% net investment return for 2025, increasing net assets to $145.2 billion as at December 31, 2025.
In its 2025 Annual Report, OMERS noted that the plan’s smoothed funded ratio improved to 99%, continuing a multi?year trend of strengthening plan funding on a smoothed basis while maintaining a real discount rate of 3.70%.
Other highlights from the report include:
- Net assets increased from $138.2 billion in 2024 to $145.2 billion in 2025.
- Public equities delivered a 12.3% return, supported by strong performance from private credit, while infrastructure generated positive returns despite softer results from certain European and renewable energy assets.
- The plan recorded a 10?year average return of 7.1%.
- OMERS reported a 65% reduction in portfolio carbon emissions intensity relative to 2019 and increased its green investments to $26 billion.
