Ontario Government Seeking Feedback on Plan to Provide Portable Benefits Plan to More Workers

The Ontario government is seeking feedback on its plan to provide a portable benefits program to more workers.
Research shows that fewer than one in four Ontario workers in part-time, temporary or self-employed roles have supplemental health and dental insurance.
The portable benefits program would provide health, dental, prescription drug and vision care benefits to part-time, temporary and contract workers, even if they move from job to job.
The public is invited to provide feedback until December 16, 2022, and the Portable Benefits Advisory Panel's recommendations are expected in the summer of 2023.
