A report by Top1000funds.com and CEM Benchmarking Inc. reveals that Canada is among the top countries when it comes to pension fund transparency.
The Global Pension Transparency Benchmark report analyzed 15 countries, and reviewed 75 pension funds, and five of those funds with top transparency were Canadian. The second fund in the world for overall transparency was the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, which was previously ranked as number one for the last two editions of the report (2021, 2022). The Government Pension Fund of Norway has taken the number one spot for 2023.
Ranking criteria included disclosure of factors such as governance, performance, cost and responsible investing. Other leading nations in 2023’s report were Australia, Netherlands and Sweden.
