Role of Global Asset Owners Changing with Growing Influence of ESG Factors and Sustainable Investment Considerations.

The role of global asset owners is changing, largely in thanks to the growing influence of ESG factors and sustainable investment considerations.
To better understand precisely how the global market ecosystem is evolving, Morningstar Indexes and Sustainalytics conducted a multi-phase survey.
The survey found:
- 85% of respondents believe ESG factors are material to investment policy
- 70% feel ESG factors have become more material in the past five years
- 29% say ESG factors are being considered for more than half of their organization’s total assets under management
- 66% have seen a marked improvement in the quality of ESG data, ratings, indexes and tools over the last five years, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement.
