Saskatchewan Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority issues bulletin addressing unlocking funds in pension plans or LIRAs

The Saskatchewan Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a bulletin, which addresses unlocking funds in a pension plan or locked-in retirement account (LIRA).

The bulletin addresses several situations where pension funds in a pension plan or LIRA can be unlocked. These include unlocking due to financial hardship, unlocking due to shortened life expectancy, unlocking in situations of non-residency, and more.
